DEAR AERIAL ARTS DIRECTORS, COACHES AND COLLEGUES:
The West Coast Aerial Arts Festival is so excited to be back live in person this year just in time for it’s 10th year! The WCAAF is the very first aerial competition of its kind in the United States – open to young and seasoned aerialists regardless of age or skill level.
The WCAAF is the first aerial arts competition festival that opened its doors to the world at large. It is a festival that brings us together, in mind, heart and spirit, as we all support, share, demonstrate our abilities, and provide creative outlets to relay our message. This festival is held annually, and this year it will be held on November 10 – 13, 2021 in Orange County California. The festival invites competitors to compete virtually from their home schools across the globe with the host location at the Orange County Aerial Arts studio in Costa Mesa, California. Participants will be able to
take part and showcase their talents by submitting a pre-recorded routine while having peace of mind in safeguarding the health and welfare of each of your students.
As proven last year, the festival provided a distinctive image that worked out effectively from all branches, the performance aspect, the production aspect and the entertainment and information aspect. We also discovered that it was possible to create relationships and build network of groups despite the virtual connectivity.
In continuity of our commitment to provide a platform that addresses progression, please check some developing news including 10% cash back incentives for school directors registering 5 or more of their students.
Aerial Arts America has and is always driven to promote higher aerial arts education through awareness from both the educational assessment to social identification, while keeping mind the welfare and safety of everyone during this pandemic. Our participants are the future of the aerial arts population and Aerial Arts America, in partnership with many aerial arts schools, look forward to supporting the WCAAF by igniting motivation, fervor, excitement, determination and stirring up the much-needed performance and competitive spirit.
With the changing evolution of aerial arts, we continue to reorganize and transform our policies. Our choreography section will not be highlighted in this festival, yet, we encourage you to share your choreography pieces, as we will be featuring chosen ones. The creative and innovative works of aspiring and seasoned choreographers are most sought and can be presented by video regardless of the date it was created. Moving forward, we are optimistic to organize a separate festival, as we build momentum, We urge our school partners to help support this venture and provide the needed resources including the training space for their students, colleagues and peers.
Please share this event with your community and constituents. Although this announcement is overdue, it is never too late for anyone to use this event to create an artistic performance, challenge oneself and continue to move forward to a clear, bright and optimistic future. In a couple weeks, we will open our enrollment and unveil our newly designed website. While waiting for its completion, you may see our latest news on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
We welcome your ideas to make this festival flourish. Feel free to reach out regarding any questions or suggestions you may have. I look forward to your school’s participation. Thank you for your time.
Blessings,
Ruby Karen
