Tyler Jacobso

Tyler Jacobson began training in contortion and hand balancing at the Great Y Circus in Redlands, California in 2006. Self-trained through college, he then joined the pre-professional troupe at Kinetic Theory in Los Angeles before touring with the Broadway show Pippin in 2017 as a hand balancer. He is now a student of renowned Mongolian contortion coaches Enkhee Smith and Undarmaa Gold. He is also a favorite monster at Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, performing contortion in the streets as well as aerial hoop, trapeze, and silks on stage. He currently teaches both contortion and aerial hoop at Kinetic Theory—his style and method of contortion emphasizes alignment and active flexibility with the goal that his students should learn not only what stretches to do, but how to do them properly to gain flexibility as well as the strength to support that flexibility. Tyler’s workshop will focus primarily on active stretching sequences that can be used to supplement any aerial or acrobatic training regimen.
