Vivian Tam

Vivian has been dangling in the world of aerial arts for the past 20 years, performing in a wide array of theater, cabaret, burlesque, and corporate entertainment, locally and around the world. This has included Friedrichsbau Variete and Teatro Circo Price with The Aerialistas, AIDA Cruise, The Triple Door, and Teatro Zinzanni’s Late Night Cabarets. Vivian has developed a penchant for continued experimentation, wearing many hats, and delivering high acrobatic artistry with character driven stories. This spring, Vivian was guest artist and instructor at the Alberta Circus Arts Festival. Vivian is currently the producer at Seattle Aerial Arts which has put on weekly aerial entertainment at the Suite Lounge restaurant in Bellevue for the past 13 years.

Vivian is a dedicated private coach and workshops instructor. Her teaching focuses on technique building and crafting individual artistry, while embodying play and passion for circus arts for students of all levels. She first started aerial coaching at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts in 2009 where she is now a costume designer for the school. She has helped create aerial programs and teaching artist-in-residencies including  at Millikin University and Maui Aerial Arts. In 2018, she founded Chrysalis Circus which focuses on community development through shows and provides artistic and technical support to local circus professionals, students, and organizations. This summer, Vivian was a mentor with the American Circus Alliance.

Vivian’s earliest training began at Hollywood Aeria l Arts in Los Angeles, while working on her graphic arts career. Vivian holds a BA of Studio Arts from the University of California, Irvine. Vivian is very excited to return for her second year as panelist and instructor at the West Coast Aerial Arts Festival.
