WCAAF Judge Applications
The West Coast Aerial Arts Festival is seeking experienced and dedicated professionals to join our judging panel for the 2026 event.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 10 years teaching experience within an established aerial or circus training program
- Demonstrated experience instructing students of all ages and skill levels
- Comprehensive knowledge across multiple aerial apparatus, with strong proficiency in foundational disciplines such as Silks, Hoop, Trapeze, and related apparatus
- Professional performance experience as an aerial/ circus artist
Judging Perspective
We are looking for judges who can:
- Distinguish between authentic technical command and elements incorporated chiefly for difficulty scoring
- Determine a performer’s true level through a comprehensive evaluation of the routine, including transitions, control, and continuity of execution
- Provide fair, balanced evaluations supported by clear, constructive feedback
- All appointments are made with careful consideration of potential conflicts of interest, including affiliations with competing participants.
Schedule & Compensation
- Judging Dates: November 13–16, 2026
- Timing: Various sessions throughout the festival; individual judging schedules will be assigned
- Judges will receive a professional fee, commensurate with the scope of work and aligned with the festival’s non-profit structure and budget
